The year 2017 was all about budget phones at a great price we have seen many companies getting in and many companies getting out. We have also seen the highly anticipated Nokia phones coming to India but they can’t make it to the top three phones which we are going to discuss now. Redmi Note 4 was highest shipped smartphone in the year 2017 and why not it provides great value for money. But now coming to our Best Budget Smartphone of The Year Award we have shortlisted the top three contenders and they are Moto G5 Plus, Redmi Note 4, Mi A1. We are going to discuss all of them here and give you the conclusion however it is up to you to decide which is the right one for you.
Redmi Note 4 Vs Mi A1 Vs Moto G5 Plus
As Always Motorola hasn’t surprised us with the great build quality of Moto G5 Plus. The phone has a metallic back and has plastics at both the top and bottom end which provide cushioning to the phone whenever it gets dropped. The phone feels sturdy and solid in the hand. This phone has the best build quality among the all three phones. Mi A1 and Redmi Note 4 too comes with the same type of build but they can’t provide that feel on the hands that the Moto G5 Plus provides and that’s why Moto G5 Plus is a clear winner here.
Here all the phone has a 1920×1080 resolution but to due smaller 5.2-inch screen (That makes it around 424 pixels per inch) Moto G5 Plus looks sharper from the other two. Moto G5 Plus and Mi A1 both have a Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection over the screen however Xiaomi claims that there is some sort of screen protection in Redmi Note 4 but they haven’t mentioned it yet.
The picture quality comes out to be great on all the phones. But Moto G5 Plus is equipped with the 12MP f/1.7 aperture camera and can record up to 4K videos. The front camera is a 5MP f/2.2 sensor. However, there is a tie between the camera from Mi A1 and from Moto G5 Plus. Both have their unique benefits like Moto G5 Plus can record 4K Videos and can give you the best picture at low lights while in Mi A1 you can get 2X optical zoom and bokeh effect with the dual lens (Telephoto + RGB). When the picture from Redmi Note 4 is compared to Mi A1 and Moto G5 Plus it comes out to average.
Now here is again a tie between all the phones as all the phones above comes with Snapdragon 625 processor and has a top 4GB RAM variant. However, due to stock Android Moto G5 Plus feels fluid and faster as compared to Mi A1 and Redmi Note 4.
Redmi Note 4 now comes with MIUI 9 and as we know MIUI 9 is loaded with tons of features but occasionally it makes the phone slow but they are worthy at times. On the other side Mi A1 which in the Android One program comes with stock Android Oreo and the only feature that can be noticed on the phone was “Automatic Shutdown and Startup” option with the help of it you can schedule your phone for automatic switch off and start up. Moto G5 Plus also has many unique features on top of stock Android like fingerprint gestures and custom Moto gestures to launch camera and flashlight.
As we compare all of the phones we came to the conclusion that Moto G5 Plus is the clear winner here and you can’t get such a great deal from the other two phones. Now the phone comes with a price of around Rs. 10000 we can’t see any other alternatives of it.
