Selecting The Best DNS Server to Get Maximum Bandwidth From your ISP

If you are connected to Internet no matter through which medium i.e. mobile, router, dongle, you can still get the maximum bandwidth from it. However the maximum bandwidth is depends upon your Internet Service Provider, and the type of internet connection you have (GSM, HSPA, DSL, Wi-Max). But due to slow DNS Server you cannot get the full bandwidth from your ISP. One can switch to their DNS to fastest DNS servers on their routers and PC, now the problem is selection of fastest DNS server. For every ISP the DNS server may vary, there are many software which may help you to get the best DNS server. In this tutorial we  may take namebench for selecting the best server.

Step 1:    Downlaod namebench (Available for Mac OS, Windows, Python)


Step 2:  Extract and Open Namebench, Add more DNS servers you want to check separated by commas.

Step 3: Now Start the namebench

Step 4: Be patient, It will take approximately 10 to 15 minutes to becnchmark all the DNS servers.

Step 5: A report will be generate and will be pop up on your Browser, showing details of the tests & with Recommended configuration

Recommended Settings

Step 6: Set the values on your PC or router (See: How to add DNS server on Your PC)

Now your PC is configured to the nearest & fastest DNS server.
