Google is going to roll out Android 7.0 Nougat as early as August 5 there has been a leak from Evan Blass on twitter who is known for his tweet accuracy. In his tweet he mentioned the release of security patch for August and also about the no Nexus 5 upgrade as we have already seen it was not eligible for the developer preview so, we can expect no upgrade for Nexus 5.
There are many new features in the Nougat upgrade. People who had already installed the developer preview on their phones are aware about these feature.
Notification & Quick Settings: This includes a redesigned notification and quick settings which now covers full width of the screen all apps seemed to be streamlined. You can also expand the notifications that are grouped with two fingers. Quick settings icon can be arranged just like in Marshmallow you can also remove and add icons in it.
Quick Reply: It has become much easier people can now directly reply from the notifications itself without switching apps.
Split Screen mode: Now users have the split screen option to run two apps simultaneously. Depending on the screen orientation it can display the apps one above another or side by side. You can also adjust the size of the split screen. There is also a Clear all button in the Apps preview which was demanded from a large number of users.
RAM Management: Android Nougat is said to have a better RAM management then its successors.
Many of features are already available in some smartphones from their manufacturers. Custom ROM from the manufacturers has already provided the features like split screen and Quick setting arrangement.
First smartphones that will get the Nougat upgrade is said to be the Nexus 5X and 6P from Google. Couple of days back we have seen the leaked Android Nougat build for Huawei P9. Samsung and other companies will try to at least get their high end smartphones such S7 and S7 edge as early as possible. Motorola Devices are well known for their frequent upgrades but we have to see how quickly they are this time as they have a lots of device in queue for this upgrade. Moto devices which are expected for the upgrade are Moto G 2015. Moto G Turbo, Moto G4 variants, Moto X Play, Moto X style, Moto X force, Moto Z. Nokia is already rumored to be launching two phones with Android Nougat preloaded and many other smartphone manufacturers are expected to announce the update timeline for their smartphones.
